Managing Director & Chief Psychology Specialist, TreeholeHK Limited

I'm Peter — founder and chief psychology specialist at TreeholeHK. My work in Hong Kong spans psychological counselling, teaching psychology, developing mental health AI (primarily the MindForest App), and creating psycho-education content (mainly through the Five-Minute Psychology channel). All of this serves TreeholeHK's mission: Building Resilience for the Times — through psychological science, we hope to kindle the courage to live authentically and transcend ourselves, and in turn become an ember in Hong Kong's civil society. The schools of thought that resonate with me include psychoanalysis and Yalom's existential approach. I admire Yalom's candour, and his capacity to hold one life within the vessel of another; I also appreciate the depth of psychoanalysis — its intimacy with life's contradictions. I hold a degree in BSocSc (Psychology) from HKU and spent time on exchange at the University of Oxford. All of this shapes the practice ethos of TreeholeHK and my own: I believe a psychologist should be sincere, deeply knowledgeable, and willing to stand behind their convictions. That is the direction I strive toward. Since founding TreeholeHK, I have been fortunate to receive the support of many friends. To this day, I accept that trust with a kind of reverent trepidation — because your trust carries the weight of a life. You are trusting TreeholeHK to walk alongside you in the questions that matter most. And I, like you, have moments of pride and of worry.
